Detection of VDR gene TaqI polymorphism. PCR amplification of the genomic DNA was carried out and the products of amplification were cleaved with restriction enzyme TaqI (details given in Methods). Lane 1, phiX174 HaeIII cut Mr markers; lane 2, uncleaved PCR product, lanes 3,8 TaqI cleavage pattern from subjects with heterozygous TC genotype; lanes 4,7 TaqI cleaved PCR product from subjects with CC genotype; lanes 5,9–10 TaqI cleaved PCR products from a subject with TT genotype, lane 6, no sample.
