Neutrophils isolated from adults (dark grey; n = 4) and cord blood after Caesarean section (light grey; n = 4) were kept on ice or incubated at 37°C in the absence or presence of LPS (10 μg/ml) and investigated for cell-surface expression of L-selectin by flow cytometry. The geometric mean fluorescence intensities (y-axis, MFI) are shown and statistical analysis was performed using the Mann–Whitney test. No statistically significant differences were found between adult and neonatal neutrophils at any of the conditions.Back to article page
