Distribution of Life Satisfaction total scores (standardized FLZ values) in the UWS-affected and control groups. One can see that average satisfaction values (stanines 4 to 6) are more frequent in control families (18 respondents, i.e., 69% of the sample) than in families with a UWS child (12 respondents, i.e., 46%). In contrast, low satisfaction values (stanines 1 and 2) are more frequent in UWS than control families (42 and 15%, for UWS and control, respectively). In sum, these data show that affected families were less satisfied with their life than control families (p = .025)
