The registered metabolites are from left to right: Cr2: secondary creatine peak, Glx: glutamine/glutamate (multiple peaks, here, double peaks), mIns: myo-inositol (double peaks), Cho: choline, Cr: primary creatine peak, NAA: N-acetyl-aspartate, Lac: lactate, lip: lipid (double peaks). In HIE, metabolites considered to have clinical significance are mIns, Cho, Cr, NAA and Lac.? represent low (< 1) signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). NB: at TE = 35 ms, the Lac peak is difficult to differentiate from the overlapping lip peaks
