Effects of a 12-week exercise program on glucose and insulin levels in overweight/obese adolescents. Glucose (a) and insulin (b) levels obtained with an oral glucose tolerance test in 47 adolescents with obesity at baseline and after a 12-week exercise program. Data are shown as mean ± standard deviation. Pre- and post-training area under curves (AUCs) of plasma glucose and serum insulin were compared using paired t-tests for each group, and significant changes were found after the training (P < 0.001 for both plasma glucose and serum insulin)
