Diagnosis

Criteria

Definite LNB §

1. Neurological symptoms indicative for LNB without other obvious reasons

 

2. Pleocytosis in CSF Ω

 

3. Intrathecal anti-Borrelia antibody production (IgG and/or IgM) #

Possible LNB §

Two of the criteria for Definite LNB are fullfilled

Non-LNB

Not meeting the criteria for Definite LNB or Possible LNB

Controls

Other specific diagnosis

  1. Ω Total cell count ≥ 5 x 106/L in CSF
  2. § Classified according to European guidelines (6)
  3. # Detected by IDEIA Lyme neuroborreliosis assay (22)
  4. LNB = Lyme neuroborreliosis
  5. CSF = cerebrospinal fluid
  6. Ig = Immunoglobulin
