  1. *Trend analysis of survival rates for MRSA and MSSA infections in the weight categories, using the extended Mantel-Haenszel chi-square for linear trend, showed a significant risk of death when weight was <750 grams for MSSA cases (p = 0.0166), but no significant survival trend with increasing gestational age seen in MRSA cases.
